It feels like Christmas already with all of the packages I’m getting in the mail from shopping online! Here’s a quick rundown of what I got: Continue reading My Black Friday/Cyber Monday Purchases
Here was my look:
I recently went to Vegas for my friend Courtney’s bachelorette party and had an absolute blast! Here’s some info that might help you with your next bachelorette bash or your next trip to Vegas!
Prepping for the Trip
One month before: Go online and order all the most ridiculous bachelorette games and decorations you can find. Get your wardrobe together.
A few days before: if you’re road tripping it be sure to stock up on rosé/champagne, snacks, and bring an entire case of water. Also consider a case of Red Bull. A wine key/bottle opener is very important as well. Get a manicure/pedicure/brows threaded. Get some cash out.
The night before you go to Vegas: If you are a pale person like myself, you’re going to want to get a spray tan. In the evening take a shower, exfoliate your entire body using exfoliating gloves and a body scrub, then shave wherever you like to shave. When you get out of the shower don’t put on any lotion or deodorant. Wear loose fitting clothes that you don’t mind getting spray tan on and either wear a bikini/bathing suit or nothing at all underneath. Pull your hair up in a bun. I tried Organic Shimmer on Melrose and loved their $19 for first time customers deal. The girl that did my tan was super sweet and told me a funny story about her first bachelorette party. Afterwords be very careful when you are around any water. Wash your hands sparingly. Don’t let water drip down your arms when you brush your teeth. Don’t take a shower or wash off the tan even if you look like a bodybuilder. Make sure you’re ok with all of your bedding getting self-tanner on it, because it will happen. Sleep in loose long sleeves and pants to contain most of the spray tan.
The day you leave: In the morning take a shower and rinse off the outer layer of spray tan. Don’t scrub and don’t use too much soap. Make sure you pack your darkest foundation and lots of bronzer so your face will match your body. Make sure your snacks game is tight. Bring your ID. Pack a lot of aspirin and water.
Where to Stay
Hello everyone! While I absolutely do not consider myself a fashion blogger, I have jumped on this athleisure trend and have gone HAM with my Adidas trefoil purchases. It’s like wearing fancy sweatpants that are appropriate in public… or at least that’s what I keep telling myself. Because I’ve received a lot of compliments and interest about my items I thought I’d pass on where I got it to all of you (because honestly I’ve spent like 4+ hours online browsing and comparing prices).
The amazing beauty blogger that was my initial inspiration was Desi Perkins in this Instagram post:
I’m headed to Toronto next week and needed something cute to wear in the chilly weather so I wanted to share some of the pieces I found last minute! Continue reading Chic Chilly Spring Fashion Deals – Faux Fur Poncho, Leather Booties, and Liquid Leggings
I’m absolutely not an expert (far far from it), but I planned my trip to Mount Hood, Oregon a few months in advance so I had plenty of time to ask everyone I knew about what clothes I needed to stay warm and comfortable while skiing. If you’ve never skied before, you’re going to need to buy or borrow the following: Continue reading What Clothes You Need for Skiing
Bonjour! Just practicing my French because I’m headed to Paris for the first time ever in a week and a half!! While preparing for my trip I had to take a look at this book I have to see if it had any European travel tips. The book is Classy by Derek Blasberg and in it I learned a few VERY good tips that I still use this day:
Airplane blankets are great for your lap, but who wants that near their face!? Bring a pashmina it can help keep you warm or be rolled up into a ball and used as a pillow. I have this cashmere one (here’s one that’s half the price) from Nordstrom in black and take it on all my trips.
Derek shares a nightmare-like situation that happened to him while returning from traveling in the book that involved his suitcase breaking and all of his underwear coming out one by one on the conveyer belt one by one at baggage claim. Continue reading Traveling in Style
If you’re like me and always expending tons of energy trying to figure out what to bring on trips in order to be prepared for any weather/situation/temperature/
1. Shoes – Coachella is enormous I’d guess depending on how active your group is you will be walking up to 6-10+ miles per day in a grassy field. I wore flat boots when I went because my friend Meagan told me to wear boots that “don’t even have a 1 inch heel. Not even the littlest baby heel. Flat. On the ground.” And I think that was really good advice. If you wear heels you’ll probably hate yourself and end up barefoot. If you wear sandals they are going to get jacked up by all the dirt and your feet will be stepped on by fellow festival-goers. If you’re even more chill than I am you could wear sneakers and be comfortable as well.
>> Dresses and Skirts– Pick some that are long enough so that when you sit on the ground you’ll have a little bit of a fabric barrier. Also consider wearing shorts underneath for added comfort and because it can get super windy. Continue reading What to Wear to Coachella
Not sure what you’re going to wear yet?? Here’s a few ideas:
I might be wearing this American Apparel Lace Print Nylon Tricot 3/4 Sleeve Dress in Red which is currently on sale for $27.
Or I’m super tempted to pick up this American Apparel Belle De Jour Dress because it’s on sale for $33: Continue reading Last Minute Valentine’s Day Outfits
A few weeks ago I was invited by a friend to go to a show at LA Fashion Week. It was my first “big time” fashion show I’d ever attended. I originally thought it was the first fashion show I’d attended period, but then remembered back to my days in Gainesville, FL supporting my model roommate walking the runway (miss you Val!). Anyway the show was Sue Wong “Fairies and Sirens” on October 15, 2014 at LA Live and after watching the video on the invite I was immediately obsessed with Sue:
In this video Sue talks about her brand and she is such an artiste it’s just great. She also discusses how her 3 different mansions inspire her dresses so yeah the video is pretty amazing. As far as how to get invited to the shows unfortunately I don’t know how one does this. I was lucky enough to be invited by a friend whose aunt knows Sue. The show was on a Wednesday evening and the dress code was cocktail attire. I decided to go a little more casual, but yet still chic and in all-black which seems like a fashionable thing to do, right? Here’s the outfit I wore:
