So we’re all looking like sparkling mermaid unicorn princesses more and more everyday and I’m loving it! The latest beauty trend is rainbow highlighters. If you’ve never used a highlighter or are unsure what I mean by highlighter, let’s break it down. A highlighter can be liquid, cream, or powder and is meant to draw attention to wherever it is applied by catching and reflecting light and sparkle. Highlighters are what give you a blinging cheek bone and a jLo glow (you may remember them from my Lilly Ghalichi makeup post). They can be subtle, or lately people really want them to be seen from space so an INTENSE highlight is hot right now on Instagram and YouTube. You apply highlighters with a brush, a sponge/beauty blender, or your fingers. You can apply it before or after your face makeup (or both!) You can also layer multiple highlighters to make them more intense. If I want to really glow I will prime my face, then use a liquid highlighter on the tops of my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose which I blend in with my fingers. I then apply foundation/concealer/powder/bronzer/blush and then put a final layer of highlighter on top to make it pop as a finishing touch with my makeup. Check out this post to see how I get a nice intense glow.
Previously everyone was wearing highlighters in more neutral shades- champagne, gold, bronze, rose gold, opal, pearl, etc. but lately highlighters have been taken to the next level for those brave enough to rock the Rainbow highlight. Here’s what it looks like: Continue reading “Beauty Trend – Rainbow Highlighters”
During the Sephora VIB sale I went to the store and watched the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colors and they were SO gorgeous I had to pick one up myself. I ended up getting Moonlight a metallic champagne beige and I have been wearing it daily! I used to use MAC Eye Kohl in Teddy and just make a thin line on top of my upper lash lane and usually skip eyeshadow, but ever since buying the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colorin Moonlight ($29) I’ve been wearing that instead DAILY.
I take the stick and basically color my entire lid with it, then take a fluffy eyeshadow brush and blend the colour slightly, but only in the crease because I want the rest of the lid especially near the lash line to look intense. The color lasts all day and looks so beautiful! This weekend I decided to use it in a different way and used it to line my bottom lash line quickly to give it some definition and I loved that too! I can’t wait to get more of these things it’s amazing! Here’s a picture where you can see the sparkle on my bottom lash line: Continue reading “Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Color Review”
Ever wonder how Kim Kardashian takes all of her incredible selfies? Wondering why your makeup doesn’t pop in your photos like hers does? I’m here to tell you some of Kim Kardashian’s selfie secrets:
Kim Kardashian Selfie Lighting
You always want to make sure your photos have great lighting. Great lighting comes from natural, indirect sunlight or artificial light that comes from in front of you (not above you because that casts shadows on your face). If you don’t have your own a fancy ring light or want to take good pictures when you are out at night with not a lot of lighting options you can do what Kim Kardashian does and use a Lumee Illuminated Cell Phone Case:
Creating my DIY Ikea ALEX Vanity has seriously added joy into my everyday life. It may sound silly but having this really nice, well lit, comfortable, organized setting where I can spend some Me Time getting ready has felt super luxurious and has been a wonderful improvement in the quality of my daily life. I’m an avid watcher of YouTube beauty gurus and if you are too then you know that the Ikea Alex 5 Drawers are part of the “Basic Beauty Guru Starter Pack”, but that’s for good reason, they are amazing for storing makeup! And affordable. I will say this post is not a true DIY so you’re not going to have to make a bunch of trips to Home Depot (insert prayer hands emoji here), but more of a how do you put together the Ikea ALEX vanity like all those other beauty gurus step-by-step guide as well as information on other alternative options. I spent a ton of time researching my set up before finally pulling the trigger and making the purchase so now I get to share my findings with you all! Continue reading “DIY Ikea ALEX Vanity”
Today I have a quick tip for you that actually works. It’s simple and I wish I would have known it sooner. This will help with both regular and gel manicures whether you do them at home or get them done at the salon. The tip is…
I’ve been wanting to try lash extensions for a while now, but they’re so expensive! Luckily, one of my new favorite YouTubers made a video on how to DIY lash extensions at home and it’s super cheap and easy!
I have been so bored with my hair lately! When I straighten it it’s flat and lifeless, curling it looks the same every time, and don’t even get me started about how terrible it looks when I try to embrace my natural once-curly-now-not-curly-enough-to-wear-curly texture. That’s why I was so glad to find this super easy hair tutorial that just gives your hair a “bend” or a very soft waves which is similar to how the Kardashians have been wearing their hair. It’s simple, fast, and will make your hair way less boring immediately. I’ve also gotten a lot of compliments every time I’ve worn my hair with soft waves like this so I definitely recommend it.
Spencer Scott and Tasha Reign talk all about how to get that platinum blonde porn star hair, Olaplex, root cover up, and dry shampoo.
I had my friends Spencer Scott and Tasha Reign over the other night and we had a blast talking about all things beauty. In today’s video the girls and I are talking about hair. I’ve known Spencer Scott for about 4 years and she has the most gorgeous platinum blonde hair. I had to know how she does it! How does she not go bald from all that bleach!? Well, it turns out after one bad trip to a salon she did lose so much hair that she had to get a toupee, but you’ll have to watch the video to hear more about that story. Spencer also shares this amazing powder that looks like an eyeshadow that can cover up your roots in between trips to the salon and we all share our favorite dry shampoos.
