Best Drugstore Foundations

best-drugstore-foundations-2016-header

I live for a drugstore makeup run. The drugstores in LA are sometimes twice as expensive so I usually like to get drugstore products either out in the boonies/suburbs when I’m on a trip, at Ulta when they’re BOGO, at a Harmons in a Bed, Bath, and Beyond, at Target, or online from Amazon or Target (I sound insane, but drugstore makeup is the awesome!). If you haven’t tried drugstore foundations in the past I urge you to give them a shot and you might be surprised just how nice they can be! Day to day I tend to rotate through this batch because I’m not trying to spend every last penny I have at Sephora and MAC. For reference I wear NC20 from MAC even though it’s a bit yellow on me. I have oily/combination skin and lots of pigmentation I like to cover. Here we go!

Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation

(I wear 112 Natural Ivory)- I did an entire review on this foundation and I have still been loving it and might even be on my second bottle (I own so much makeup when I finish something and repurchase it’s a big deal). The finish is not super matte it’s more demi-matte so it’s really nice for probably any skin type honestly. This foundation is medium, but buildable coverage. The only drawback with this foundation is that it’s not super long wearing, but I’ve never tried a foundation in my life that’s made it through a full work day with me unmoved.

L’Oreal Infallibile Pro-Matte Foundation

(I wear 102 Shell Beige)- When I first got this foundation I couldn’t understand what all the hype was for and really preferred the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless, but as I’ve tried this foundation it has really grown on me. Again this is not a completely matte foundation it’s more demi-matte and it’s got medium coverage that’s maybe slightly less than the Maybelline Fit Me, but the best part about that is that it looks a little more natural. This foundation claims to last 24 hours which I do not find to be true, more like 7-9 (so a full work day).

Rimmel BB Cream Matte

(I wear Light)- This BB cream was such a surprise hit! The coverage is really good, yet it somehow still looks very natural and is the most seamless next to my true skin color. I only bought this to get a BOGO deal with their lash tinting mascara (which was terrible and did not work) so I was pleasantly surprised at how great this one is. This again is not truly matte, more of a demi matte or natural finish so if you get oily like I do you’ll need to keep your blotting papers nearby. I love that this never looks cakey! The other down side of this one is that there’s not many color options, but again I’m just so impressed how it blends with my skin.
