Did you know that Nordstrom holds free beauty events that anyone can sign up for? On 3/26/17 I went to my third beauty event at Nordstrom to find out what all the hot new products are and if there’s any trends. I ended up with 3 Drybar products and have been using them all for 2 months and I’m obsessed!

Drybar Double Standard Cleansing and Conditioning Foam

My new favorite shampoo AND conditioner! If you’ve never used Drybar products before, first of all they all smell absolutely incredible. The smell lasts through the day and isn’t overwhelming, but just smells so great. The products are pricey, but from all the ones I’ve tried so far they actually work so at least you’re getting your money’s worth.

My hair is the adorable combination of fine, wavy, bleach blonde, oily at the scalp and dehydrated at the ends. I told the woman that I have been working out more regularly and sweating which means I now have to wash my hair almost daily. When you wash your hair it can strip it of all it’s moisture which is something I’m trying to avoid, but my roots are just too dirty to cover up with dry shampoo. She recommended the Drybar Double Standard Cleansing and Conditioning Foam ($28). This is a gel-foam (like shaving cream) that gently cleanses and conditions to remove product buildup and impurities (sweat and oil) without weighing down your hair. I’ve actually almost used up the entire bottle of this I love it so much.

Most days my hair is so dirty I need to use a clarifying shampoo (my favorite is the Kenra Clarifying Shampoo) which I use in my roots only to remove all of the oil. Afterwards I use the Drybar Double Standard Cleansing and Conditioning Foam  and it makes my hair feel and smell amazing. I use a gumball size amount and start in my ends and work it up towards my roots without getting too much in my actual roots. If you have normal hair that doesn’t constantly have oil and dry shampoo in the roots, you can skip the clarifying shampoo and only use this and you will be good to go. When I use this my hair is soft, easy to comb out after the shower, and still has volume and is not weighed down by product (LOVE!)

Drybar ‘Detox’ Dry Conditioner ($23)

iconI used to think that Dry Conditioner was a weird gimmicky product. I love the volume and body dry shampoo gives my hair, but hate that it dulls my shine and can make my dry ends look extra crunchy. Drybar Detox Dry Conditioner helps hydrate, soften, and detangle dry ends while adding body, volume, and texture. You only want to spray Drybar Detox Dry Conditioner on the bottom half of your hair (on the ends and halfway up the shaft). This is for use on dry hair. I spray it on after I have curled my hair. I still use dry shampoo on my roots (my fave is Batiste Dry Shampoo especially the Wild Daring & Sassy scent in the leopard print can, naturally).

Drybar Sparkling Soda Shine Mist ($28)

iconI’m always on the hunt for the perfect shine mist or serum that will make my strands look shiny without making them oily or weighing down my hair. The Drybar Sparkling Soda Shine Mist totally checks all those boxes and I love how easy it is to apply lightly and evenly! When I use dry shampoo it tends to dull my hair since it’s full of powder basically, so this shine spray brings it back to life! I bought the travel size for $13 and a little goes a long way!

Drybar 100 Proof Treatment Oil ($36)

If you have thicker or more coarse hair I highly recommend the Drybar 100 Proof Treatment Oil which is pricey at $36 (or $20 for travel size), but it has literally lasted me for years. The treatment oil is a serum/oil formula that you pump into your hands and smooth onto your ends. It’s definitely thicker than the Drybar Sparkling Soda Shine Mist, but if you have thick coarse hair it will really help smooth out dead ends and make your hair look glossy and healthier.

At the Nordstrom event Drybar presented on their Baby Buttercup Travel Blow Dryer. This blow dryer uses Ionic technology to reduce frizz and increase shine. It weighs only 13oz. (less than a pound!) and folds up easily in your suitcase, but still has a strong motor to blow your hair out quickly and efficiently. It also comes with a super cute travel bag.

Drybar ‘The Tress Press’ Digital Styling Iron ($150)

Drybar also talked about their flat iron the Drybar ‘The Tress Press’ Digital Styling Iron. It’s lightweight, has titanium technology for less frizz, and can make hair straight and shiny with one press through. It heats up in 60 seconds and gets as hot as 450 degrees Fahrenheit. It also has a memory-lock function so it remembers your preferred heat setting and will  automatically heat to that temperature. The edges are also rounded so you can use the flat iron to curl the hair as well.

Drybar 3-Day Bender Curling Iron ($135)

I thought their curling iron the Drybar 3 Day Bender Curling Iron was their most interesting tool was their most interesting tool. The interesting part about this curling iron is that you can hold the handle still and just rotate the barrel separately. It also uses infrared energy to seal and smooth the cuticle to reduce flyaways and avoid damage. It has a great 60-minute automatic shut-off feature for those of us who worry that we are going to burn our houses down by not turning off our curling irons in the morning before we leave.
