It’s almost Thanksgiving!!! I typically do Black Friday and Small Business Saturday posts, but I thought this year I’d share some Thanksgiving inspo and recipe ideas. I really enjoy cooking and baking and luckily my whole family is pretty darn good at both too so we’re spoiled. Here’s some recipes I’ve made in the past and recommend and a vlog of last years celebration along with the song from SNL my sister and brother-in-law love to torture me with by singing it to me on repeat.
Thanksgiving Recipes
Thanksgiving Side Dishes
Roasted Squash Salad with Crispy Shallot & Balsamic Reduction by Minimalist Baker – Beautiful, healthy, and delicious. This is a more modern Thanksgiving dish because it doesn’t have 10 sticks of butter.
Stove Top Macaroni and Cheese by The Crepes of Wrath (one of my favorite food blogs!!) – I like to add jalapenos to the mac and cheese then put it in a baking dish, add more cheese on top and cook until gooey.
Momofuku’s Roasted Brussels Sprouts by The Crepes of Wrath – I haven’t made these yet, but I’m thinking about it for this year!
Thanksgiving Desserts
I’m the family baker and usually get put in charge of the desserts. I’ve made some real show stoppers before- these are all outstanding!
Pumpkin Pie Layer Cake by The Crepes of Wrath – PHENOM!! Kind of a pain to transport so think about that ahead of time.
Salted Caramel Pecan Chocolate Pie by Crazy for Crust – IDK who decided Thanksgiving didn’t need chocolate, but they were wrong. If you eat a lot of this your stomach will hurt, but you still will not be able to stop.
Spiced Pumpkin Cheesecake with Bourbon Whip Cream by Bakers Royale – Plain pumpkin pie is kinda gross lets be honest. Make this instead.
Pumpkin Caramel Cheesecake Bars with a Streusel Topping by Chelsea’s Messy Apron – so so good! Seriously, plain pumpkin pie who!?
Peanut Butter Cup Crack Brownies by Cookies & Cups – Non-traditional, but always delicious. This one is pretty easy too.
Churro Cheesecake by The Recipe Critic – I made this for a birthday before and it was a huge hit. It’s also so easy it would work great if you needed to bring a dessert.
Samoa Cheesecake by Gimme Some Oven – I just made this for my family and they were obsessed. Again, non-traditional but a huge hit. Add some cream to the chocolate you drizzle on top to make it easier to slice.
Salted Caramel and Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars by Averie Cooks – can you tell I love chocolate pecan things?
Post-Thanksgiving Recipe
When you’re sick of all the turkey and want to cook something quick and easy that everyone will love you have to make Ramona Singer’s Herbes de Provence Chicken!! My family is obsessed.
