Barbara Kavovit the new “friend of” the Real Housewives of New York City has a new book coming out, and itmade me curious about the books the other Real Housewives of New York City have written.
Audible
I have been a paying subscriber of Audible since 2011. Before that I’d always get audiobooks from the library. A lot of these I listened to on Audible which I highly recommend! It’s such a great way to multitask while commuting to work, cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, walking, etc.
Books by the Real Housewives of New York City
I have compiled the whole list here and starred * the ones I have read personally and gave my review.
Bethenny Frankel
Naturally Thin: Unleash Your SkinnyGirl and Free Yourself from a Lifetime of Dieting (2009)* 4⭐️, 441 Reviews. I liked this one it had practical advice that I still hear in my head to this day. If you’re at a restaurant you only get to pick 2 – bread, appetizer, cocktail, dessert. I also remember she included a food journal and for the first day for breakfast she had a cupcake.
The Skinnygirl Dish: Easy Recipes for Your Naturally Thin Life (2009)* 4.1⭐️, 126 Reviews. I forgot this was a second/separate book and I think I had it too. There was a recipe for stuffed portobello mushrooms which was really good.
A Place of Yes: 10 Rules for Getting Everything You Want Out of Life (2011)* 3.9⭐️, 156 Reviews Bethenny is for sure a hustler and these tips are about how she got to the top. I think this is my favorite of Bethenny’s books. Bethenny has been through a lot of trauma in her life and I feel like this is a way to get access to all of the strategies and mindset changes that have helped her.
Skinnydipping: A Novel (2012) 3.8⭐️, 122 Reviews
Skinnygirl Solutions: Your Straight-Up Guide to Home, Health, Family, Career, Style, and Sex (2013) 3.8⭐️, 58 Reviews
Skinnygirl The Cocktails: 100 Fun & Flirty Guilt-Free Recipes (2014) 3.9⭐️, 24 Reviews
Cookie Meets Peanut (2014) 3.7⭐️, 24 Reviews. This is a kid book that I do not remember hearing about, but it actually looks super cute.
I Suck at Relationships So You Don’t Have To: 10 Rules for Not Screwing Up Your Happily Ever After (2015)* 3.8⭐️, 73 Reviews. This is a straight-shooting book that tells you the “truth,” but does have a lot of generalizations about men, women, and relationships. Luckily Dr. Amador pops in and makes corrections or says he disagrees when Bethenny is oversimplifying.
LuAnn de Lesseps
Class with the Countess: How to Live with Style and Flair (2009) 2.9⭐️, 100 Reviews. I cannot BELIEVE I haven’t read this yet!! Who else thinks her next book will be “Life is a Cabaret with The Countess.”?

What Remains: A Memoir of Fate, Friendship, and Love (2005)* 4.7⭐️, 1,304 Reviews. This was great well written and very interesting (realized how little I knew about her and her late husband’s relationship) and heartbreaking. This is my favorite on this list. [HIGHEST RATED]
The Madcap Tales of My Year on The Real Housewives of New York (2012) 2.5⭐️, 8 Reviews
The Widow’s Guide to Sex and Dating: A Novel (2014)* 3.7⭐️, 217 Reviews I remember enjoying this book, but I don’t remember a lot about it except for that it was similar to What Remains, but more surface.

Carole Radziwill vs. Aviva Drescher
I’m pretty impressed with how many of the Real Housewives of New York City have written books! I feel like this may be why Carole Radziwill had such a freak out over Aviva trying to call herself an author. Like… the majority of these women have written books with a ghost writer helping them Aviva- you are not a true author, that’s kind of Carole’s THING.
