What to Buy on Amazon for Your Home

Who doesn’t love a good Amazon Prime purchase? Over the past few years I have purchased some of my favorite household items from Amazon. This is a fun and strange mix of items from laundry detergent to a trash can and a vacuum cleaner. Some serious glowing up!

Laundry Products to Buy on Amazon

Fancy Laundry Detergent

Tyler Candle Co Diva Glamorous Wash

Want to smell really expensive like a rich and famous celebrity? This is a great first step. This detergent smells incredible. Just the tiniest splash in your loads of laundry will have your sheets and towels smelling great for weeks! I use a Tide laundry pod too to actually wash my clothes and the preserve this expensive little treat.

OXO Good Grips Flex-Lid Hamper

I have bought and destroyed a few cheapie college-esque mesh hampers in my day. I wanted a decent hamper that was going to stand the test of time and look nice.

It was painful to spend $40 on a hamper, but in the end I’m SUPER happy with this purchase. It looks grown up, it’s the perfect size so I can never make it too heavy, and you can toss things in without seeing them thanks to the lid. Just spend the $40 instead of buying 3 more $15 hampers.

No Slip Velvet Hangers

Matching velvet hangers is a sure sign of adulthood and will make you 100x happier when you look in your closet.

If you feel bad about throwing away your perfectly good hangers I recommend donating/returning them to your dry cleaner so they can be reused.

Products for the Kitchen from Amazon

Silicone Baking Mat

Want to keep your baking sheets looking fresh without wasting tons of aluminum foil or parchment paper? Give these Silicone Baking Mats a try. I use these when I make Milk Bar cookies, but I use them for savory foods too!

Salad Scissors from Amazon

Salad Scissors

If you follow me on Instagram (@blushinginhollywood) then you know I love my Toss and Chop Salad Tongs aka Salad Scissors so much I have even made up a song for them. These are excellent for making chopped salads which are SO much better than regular salads. They also work great for shredding meat. Highly recommend.

NINESTARS Automatic Touchless Infrared Motion Sensor Trash Can/Recycler

Another product that was a littttle more than I wanted to spend, but I’m SO glad I invested.

After moving I found out that in Beverly Hills the waste management company separates recycling from your trash so you don’t have to do it yourself. I still find this useful because I put paper trash/things that are not going to smell in one side and food trash in the other that I take out more often.

The automatic lid is handy and keeps it looking clean and fresh. It’s also big enough because I hate a small trash can that you feel like you’re taking out everyday. It’s stainless steel which matches my other appliances so it’s not a total eyesore. Also- put the stickers inside the top of the lid not on the outside- keep it cute.

Dyson V8 Absolute Cord-Free Vacuum

I’m going to admit something embarrassing right now. For a long time I would not vacuum. This is because my floors would hide dirt well and because it was such a PROCESS. I’d spend an hour vacuuming and inhaling that weird vacuum smell and then spend another hour cutting all of my hair that got stuck in the rotating part out of it. Not cute.

My sister and brother-in-law kept raving about this fancy vacuum and after YEARS of being envious I took the plunge and bought it. I vacuumed more in the first week of getting this thing than in the 5 years before it. I now do a quick vacuum 2-3 times a week at least.

It’s cordless which is amazing and the battery lasted long enough for me to thoroughly vacuum my last large-ish apartment all the way through twice. If you have more to vacuum than that then you should be able to afford a regular cleaning service.

And best of all- my hair doesn’t get stuck in it and it has a HEPA filter which expels cleaner air and not that weird vacuum smell.

Now I just need one of those fancy steam mops, any recommendations?
