I went a little HAM on the Fall 2016 Sephora VIB sale so let’s review my purchases!

belif Don’t be flaky! This kit contained 3 products and is sadly no longer available or I would 100% repurchase. You can get a similar kit if you buy the belif Bestsellers On-The-Go, but it doesn’t have the same moisturizer.

Don’t be flaky! Contained: belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb ($22/$38) which was the one of the most amazing night time moisturizers I’ve ever tried in my life you have to feel this stuff it is unreal. BUY!!

belif Moisturizing & Firming Eye Cream ($48) which was the best eye cream I’ve ever used period. BUY!

and belif Hungarian Water Essence ($42) which was meh whatever. I didn’t really notice any benefits with this. SKIP.

Sunday Riley Power Couple Duo: Total Transformation Kit ($85 for $105 value). This kit contains 2 of Sunday Riley’s most popular products. Good Genes Treatment is an all-in-one lactic acid treatment that exfoliates and moisturizes the skin while smoothing fine lines. Luna Sleeping Night Oil is a combo of trans-retinol ester (similar to Retin-A, but more gentle) and  moisturizing botanical oils to reduce the appearance of pores, fine lines, and sun damage while preventing flakiness and irritation. There are tons of people that love these products and see huge changes in their skin when they use them. I am not one of those people. I stuck with this kit for a full 60 days too (that’s about when the Good Genes ran out PS), but I really couldn’t see any noticeable difference in my skin which was a bummer. If you’ve been wanting to try these I definitely recommend getting one of these value kits and buying it during the sale. Otherwise I say SKIP.

Shiseido Facial Cotton ($5/$10) These are very fancy cotton rounds in square shape. These are completely unnecessary, but they are definitely nicer than the drugstore ones and don’t leave any fuzzies behind on your face. Some people cut them up into smaller squares since they’re thick and you don’t need much to make them last longer, but I’m too lazy for that. BUY these if you’re $10 from free shipping.

Sephora Favorites Kits

Sephora Favorites Extravagant Eyes ($42) This was limited edition and is no longer available. These kits are an amazing deal, especially during the VIB sale. If you see one of these kits and really want to try 2 of the products, they generally pay for themselves. These kits are especially good for people like me who collect (hoard) makeup and only need travel sized products since I almost never use anything up.

The current Sephora Favorites kits I’d recommend are the Sephora Favorites Sun Safety Kit which I did an entire post on:

The Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Nude Lip ($28) I’m dying to try that Buxom White Russian lip color in this one…:

Sephora Favorites Quench Your Skin ($48) Skin care is pricy, but as long as you’ve been dying to try 3 of these products this will pay for itself. I love little kits like this because I use the products I don’t really need in my travel toiletry kit. This has the belif moisturizing cream, but it’s the aqua bomb so not the one I recommended (I haven’t tried it). I have a sample of the GlamGlow Nude Glow because it came in a Sephora Play! Box and so far it’s pretty nice! I’m curious about all Sunday Riley products and would like to try Tidal which is a brightening enzyme water cream. I already posted in my updated Sephora VIB Sale What to Buy and What to Skip (from 2014 but updated 4/19/17) that I turnt on that First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream and actually did like it as a face moisturizer. I got the Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream during the fall Sephora VIB sale as part of a 500 point perk and still have yet to try it. And I’d love to try any Drunk Elephant product including the Lala Retro Whipped Cream that comes in this kit.

Sephora Favorites Deluxe Perfume Sampler ($65) If you were planning on buying any of these perfumes during the VIB sale you would just be plain silly not to buy a perfume sampler. How this kit works is you buy this $65 kit, get these samples, and then it includes a certificate for a full-sized bottle which almost always retails for more than $65! These are such great deals! This one comes with 9 deluxe samples (I bought my kit a year+ ago and still use half the samples). I own and love the Gucci Bamboo Eau de Parfum, the Chloe Eau de Parfum, and I’ve previously owned the classic Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Eau de Toilette. This also includes Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum (this full sized perfume alone is $85! If you buy this kit you can get that perfume plus get all these other awesome samples!!)

Let’s break down the products that came in the Sephora Favorites Extravagant Eyes. We can start with the products I didn’t try or gave away: Marc Jacobs Mascara, Milk Eye Pigment (I will try this eventually), Smashbox eyeshadow primer, and some kind of black eyeliner. Now for what I did try:

Huda Beauty False Lashes in Samantha #7 ($20) Love Huda and love these lashes! So gorgeous! These are not for the shy girls as they bring the DRAMA. I wore them on Thanksgiving (on the left in the pic above). BUY!

NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow in Himalia (shimmering Topaz) ($29) Umm how freaking stunning is that color? This is a gorgeous shimmer finish with a duo-chrome type shift, LOVE! Can you see how this kit was worth it for the lashes and this shadow alone!? BUY!

Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Midnight Cowboy ($20) This is one of my Holy Grail products. I use this basically any time I do a dramatic eye look. It’s great in the inner corner or under the bottom lash line. You can also put it on top of a glitter pigment on the lid to add some dimension and intensity. I was happy to get a back up! BUY!!

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Plum (dark purple with shimmer finish) ($29) I’ve made an entire post about my love for the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colours and I love a purple shadow, but for whatever reason I just didn’t really like or use this one. I maybe tried it once or twice and will give it another try, but meh. I say BUY! (but in the color Moonlight which is a metallic champagne beige)

beautyblender ($20) I can’t live without this thing I use it to apply the vast majority of my foundations, concealer, powder, everything it gives you a super flawless airbrushed finish it’s amazing. BUY!! But I recommend getting this kit especially if you already know you love beautyblenders:

beautyblender Two.BB.Clean ($40) I bought this recently because um hello it comes with a decent size (5oz) liquid blendercleanser basically for free! This is a great deal.

stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Set in Naturally Nude ($20) My little trio set is sadly no longer available, but it came with Patina a dusty rose shade (pictured above) which I had been wanting to buy anyways and a full-sized stila liquid lipstick is $24.

Perla which is a lighter pink, but it actually dries much darker than it looks in the tube (I’m wearing it in the Thanksgiving photo above). The kit also contained Serenata which was only available in the trio (my sister is wearing it in the Thanksgiving photo).

Sephora does currently have the stila Bright & Bold Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Set ($20). Again, if you were interested in buying even one of the colors the kit is totally the way to go. This kit contains Beso which I own in the full-size and it’s the most amazing Taylor Swift-esque true red ever, Viola a cool lavender shade, and Lume a stunning deep fuchsia that would look great on pretty much anyone. This formula is so good I also own the full size in Bellissima and Aria and you can see more photos of me wearing them on my Beauty Trends – Liquid Lipstick post. BUY!! Also if you miss the VIB sale Stila has this kit on sale on their website for $10!

Elizabeth and James Nirvana White Dry Shampoo ($28) This was my second bottle of this insanely expensive dry shampoo. The reason I had to repurchase was it just smells so.damn.good. I own and love this perfume too, but the dry shampoo scent is nice and strong so it’s great for a night out. This does give a huge white cast though which works well to cover my roots, but I have had a date ask me if I dyed my hair gray when I had a bunch of this dry shampoo in there. This is absolutely not an everyday dry shampoo for me because I would go broke (for everyday I get Batiste at Marshall’s for under $5 it works just as good, but the smell is nothing like this fancy one), but for special occasions I love it. BUY!!

Kate Somerville Deep Moisture Healthy Glow (500 Points Perk) I have barely dipped into this kit, but so far I’m actually not impressed! SKIP.

Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzing & Contouring Brush ($24) As soon as I saw beauty gurus receiving this gorgeous bronzer and contour brush I knew I needed to have it. It’s just so damn cute!! It also works great and I use this thing daily. BUY!

Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Bronzer ($15 for Travel Size) This is a great bronzer and contour color for pale girls and medium complexions and I use this almost daily at this point and this tiny travel size has lasted me almost 6 months now. BUY (in the travel size).

Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate ($55)  I wear Ivory 12. I have oily dehydrated skin with lots of scarring and discoloration so I’m always on the hunt for a full coverage foundation that’s going to last and look amazing. This is a fantastic product, but you have to play around with it a little bit to get it to work for you. I find it works best if I buff it in with a flat-top kabuki foundation brush and then finish with my beautyblender. I cannot cover my whole face with 3 dots I always put on a ton more and then (unsurprisingly) it can start to look cakey. It’s important to moisturize well before applying this and don’t use too much. This foundation also looks great in photos and lasts a long time. BUY!

Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral SPF 45 ($30) This was a repurchase and I’ve talked about this powder foundation tons of times on the blog because I love it so much and use it pretty much daily! It’s awesome to use on your neck, chest, and arms in the car and to touch up your face later in the day. Love this thing. BUY!!
