I stumbled upon Alexandra Garza’s “I WOKE UP LIKE THIS HAIR TUTORIAL” and decided to try to recreate it. This is similar to the Soft Waves Hair Tutorial look I posted a few months back, but this look has more teasing.
When I get out of the shower I really can’t get a comb through my hair without using my It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In spray and when Beauty Plus Salon offered me some free hair products I decided to try the It’s A 10 Miracle Leave-In Plus Keratin ($16) which I’be been liking a lot. This helps hydrate, detangle, defrizz, works as a heat protectant, and adds shine, plus it smells amazing!
For dry shampoo I used my tried and true favorite Batiste which I seriously can’t live without.
I used this Goody Volumizing Boar Brush to tease my hair:
I’ve been loving this Kenra Platinum Dry Texture Spray ($13.20) and it worked great with this hair style. It increases texture and fullness while absorbing oils and impurities and has a lightweight matte finish and flexible hold that lasts up to 48 hours. This definitely helps make my hair look bigger and gives it that sexy messy look with a nice hold that isn’t crispy. My hair is oily and I also find that it doesn’t get as oily as quickly when I use this spray. I definitely recommend trying this out!
I used this Nume curling rod to get the waves in my hair:
For my outfit this LUSH Cross Front Oversize Tee just went on sale (now $22.80) and I love Nordstrom’s customer service because I just called them up and they were happy to adjust the price for me ASAP without me having to get out of my sweatpants and go out in public. This shirt runs huge I’m normally a medium in shirts, but got a small and it’s still very big.
Also in case you weren’t aware, Nordstrom’s reward card does come in a debit card as well which I use and would recommend because you get Nordstrom Notes meaning free money to spend at Nordstrom after getting a certain amount of points.
Underneath the shirt I’m wearing this super cute BP Strappy Lace Bralette in Rust Khaya ($29)
I also finally took the plunge and bought some designer jeans- these Hudson Jeans Super Skinny Jeans ($165). I have no clue why this picture is showing whiskering my pair is super black it doesn’t have those white lines on the upper thighs.
For shoes I wore some booties with a small heel here’s a similar pair- Lucky Brand ‘Beeliner’ Finge Bootie ($138.95)
To stay warm I wore a faux leather jacket similar to this Collection B Bernardo Faux Leather Moto Jacket ($69):
I won’t go into every makeup detail because there are a ton of products on my face despite this being a “fresh, natural makeup look”, but my go-to date night foundation is Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation ($64) it’s got nice medium, buildable coverage with a natural yet slightly glowy finish that never looks cakey.
What’s your go-to casual date night outfit?
