Get Ready with Me for a First Date Video

Today I have another new video for you! I filmed this a couple weeks ago while I was getting ready for a first date. It shows me going from my work clothes to first date ready. I thought it would be fun to combine the beauty + dating info. I hope you like it! Please don’t forget to subscribe, like, comment, share etc. so I can reach more people 🙂

Some of my first date essentials:

1. Mints/gum

2. ID- A few drinks are probably going down so I’m gonna need this, I try to keep it to a 2 drink maximum on a first date per Patti Stanger’s recommendations.

3. A charged cell phone in case I need to Uber myself out of there.

4. Blotting papers in case I get oily

5. A mirror to check for food in my teeth! And to see if I need to reapply some lippy. I try to wear a neutral lip that doesn’t need to be touched up too much on dates.

Some notes on my look:

Makeup: This look is just a tiny bit more than my “everyday/work” makeup. Like I said I definitely like a low maintenance lip because I’m usually eating/drinking and hopefully kissing on a date. I think this look is fresh and flawless without looking overdone. I don’t think there’s any hard and fast rules when it comes to first date makeup. I’ve gone like full drag contour, glitter cut crease, and lashes before because that’s just what I was in the mood for. Do I think guys like that? No. But that’s what I wanted that night so that’s what I did!

Hair: I’m a huge fan of dry shampoo (especially Batiste Dry Shampoo in Wild, I stock up when Ulta has it BOGO which is often) and use it all the time. Taking a full shower and washing my hair means getting ready from scratch and I just don’t have the time or energy for that after work! I do think it’s funny how my hair looks VERY similar at the end to how it started out despite messing with it for a long time.

Outfit: I love this dress and TBQH I’ve worn it on a few dates before…. It’s girly and sexy without being too dressed up (which is important since a lot of times I don’t know what restaurant we’re going to until the guy picks me up). It’s also long enough that I don’t have to keep tugging at it all night and it’s comfortable and forgiving.

The boots are a bit much for a first date, but I thought they were pretty fun and sexy and it was cold (and I hadn’t shaved my legs…) I double checked as soon as he picked me up that we weren’t hiking or doing any serious walking  because I can’t go the distance in those bad boys. I also show the weather because I do like to check it before I go out to make sure I bring a jacket if necessary. It was chilly, but the majority of our date was inside so I was fine without a jacket.

Scent: I mentioned in my How to Smell Sexy post that believe it or not, Bath and Body Works Twilight Moon is an incredibly sexy scent. This lotion is amazing as far as how moisturizing it is and I love that you can actually smell the scent for a while. I wear it on pretty much every date.

For perfume I wore Juliette Has a Gun in “Not A Perfume” which I’m OBSESSED with and my date could not get enough of it as well. The main ingredient is cetalox which is usually a base note in a lot of perfumes and it’s just so different and interesting and sultry. It’s also allergen free which is nice. My date liked it so much that I was ready to buy a bottle the next day (even though it’s $120), but I had a little trouble finding it online in stock in the US. I might go back to the Montage Beverly Hills to buy it since that’s where I discovered it and got the sample in the first place.

Purse: That ugly white bucket is my “work purse” that I use M-F to ensure I have everything I need for work everyday. I have a bunch of smaller bags in it that I maneuver to other cuter bags for night time and weekend use.
