Stassi Schroeder of Vanderpump Rules recently released her book Next Level Basic and has been touring the country to promote it. This week she did a book signing at Barnes and Noble at The Grove in Los Angeles and her makeup looked gorgeous. Her makeup artist Jared Lipscomb (Instagram @jaredlips) was nice enough to do a breakdown of one of the looks. Jared is actually the same makeup artist that did Stassi’s book cover makeup!

Details About Stassi’s Skin Prep, Makeup, and Hairstyle
This look is simple, youthful, dewy, and fresh with a touch of Old Hollywood glamour. Jared creates a flawless base with airbrush foundation, then layers creams with a touch of powder on top to keep the skin dewy. He layered highlighters to accentuate the high points of Stassi’s face, especially the cheekbones and inner corners of the eyes. Stassi loves to be tan so he used a great cream bronzer and a peachy blush to emphasize the bronzy glow. This look is giving me real Denise Richards vibes because she also loves to be super tan and dewy.

Skin Prep
Jared used prepping and priming products with great skincare ingredients to help the makeup glide on smoothly.
Botox
Don’t forget that Stassi says she always knows it’s time to get Botox when makeup is starting to settle into her wrinkles. There is no cream, lotion, or potion on this earth that can reverse a deep wrinkle (trust me I asked my dermatologist). Retinol is scientifically proven to improve fine lines when used consistently and long periods of time, but for deeper set lines you are SOL without the TOX.
I love that Stassi is open about getting Botox and lip filler so we don’t have to look at these gorgeous photos of her and spend millions of dollars and then wonder why our skin doesn’t look like hers.
Anti Aging, Anti Acne, Anti Hyperpigmentation
The Amarte Skincare Aqua Cream moisturizer Jared used on Stassi has antioxidants which are great for anti-aging and preventing free radical damage from pollution and the sun. It also has 1% retinol which helps with cell turnover, to increase collagen, and fights both wrinkles and acne. It also has ActivExtract arbutin to brighten and enhance skin clarity which will help with hyperpigmentation.
Fight Redness with Green Primer
The Bodyography Green Foundation Primer is to help cancel out redness. I’ve talked before about how Stassi has psoriasis which can cause red patches on the skin. Jared said in the comment he uses a small amount spread evenly across the face. If you have extreme redness in specific spots he recommends trying a green color correcting concealer underneath foundation.
Makeup
Airbrush Spray Foundation
The Dior Airflash Foundation 301 & 400 is the high end version of Stassi’s personal favorite foundation the Sephora Collection Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation.
The Benefits of Airbrush Spray Foundation
Airbrush foundation is lightweight, but gives a full coverage airbrushed, flawless effect. Regular foundation can sometimes get caked up in uneven skin texture while airbrush foundation stays put without emphasizing skin texture. While you can spray it directly on your face, it’s better to spray it onto a beauty blender and then apply so you don’t waste product.
Highlighting With a Luminizing Pen
Jared used a Housewives’ favorite YSL Beauty Touche Eclat in 2.5 on Stassi. This product is typically applied under the eyes, down the bridge of the nose, on the center of the forehead, and on the chin to highlight the face and give it dimension. This gives a brighter and more refreshed appearance. Stassi’s boss Lisa Vanderpump is a fan of YSL Touche Eclat.

Powder for Touchups
Jared used the Japonesque Powder in Shade 3 on Stassi to set her foundation. I also saw in photos that he used this same powder for touch ups the next day for another book tour appearance.
That Highlight Though
Powder Highlighter
Speaking of highlight, Jared used one of Stassi’s favorite highlighters BECCA Cosmetics Champagne Pop Highlighter. Champagne Pop was created by arguably the biggest YouTube Beauty Guru of all time- Jaclyn Hill to give, as the name would imply, a POP to the cheekbones.
Cream Highlighter
Jared also used RMS Beauty Living Luminizer which is a Clean Beauty Approved Product at Sephora. This is RMS Beauty’s top selling product because it highlights the skin like nothing else. It creates a luminous glow that enhances skin’s natural youthfulness without being sticky, greasy, or glittery. It has a translucent, dewy finish. RMS Beauty Living Luminizer is also cruelty-free and noncomedogenic.
Layering Highlighters
In order to give it that POP you would want to layer a powder highlighter like Champagne Pop on top.
Blush
Blush Palettes
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Peachy Love Blush Palette Jared used on Stassi looks SO pretty. With a palette like this you can use the colors individually or mix them to create a custom hue.
Peach Blush
I LOVE a peach blush I think it looks youthful and glowy without giving clown or 80s vibes a bright pink blush can sometimes give off.

Bronzer
Jared used the cult classic Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzer to give Stassi a tan glow. Stassi LOVES a fake tan. Her good friend Kathryn Calhoun Dennis from Southern Charm is also a fan of this bronzer.

Eyes
Hooded Eyes
For the eyes he used light and medium shades and kept them only on the lid. Stassi has slightly hooded eyes and adding a darker color above the crease can make them appear smaller and more closed. He also does not have any dark liner or shadows on the bottom lash line. I do this often too because it really does give a youthful look.
Jared used NARS Voyaguer Suede Eyeshadow Palette on Stassi for this look and this palette is a mini and looks so cute!
Lips
Lip Liner
A neutral peachy color like Stassi’s is great because if it wears off during a long appearance it won’t look crazy like a bold color sometimes can. To help it last first apply the lip liner all over the lips as a base. Jared used Laura Mercier Lip Liner in Chestnut.
Stassi Schroeder’s Lip Gloss
Then apply the lip gloss on top and keep handy to reapply as needed. As any real housewife would tell you, a glossy lip is a youthful lip. Jared used Face Atelier Lip Glaze in Peach on Stassi.
Hair
Pearl Clips
For the hair Bradley Leake incorporated one of the hottest hair trends right now – pearl and bejeweled hair clips. He gave Stassi a deep side part then smoothed the hair down on the side and held it in place with pretty Pearl Hair Clips that give a pop.
Old Hollywood Hairstyle
The side part with the hair smoothed away from the face on the one side and loose and flowy and sexy on the other side is a very Old Hollywood Glam look.

Hair Extensions
Bradley added hair extensions to give Stassi’s hair length and volume. I love hair extensions for special occasions because they will maintain your curl/style even if the curls in your own hair fall throughout the night.
