Kathryn Calhoun Dennis is the red-headed starlet of the Bravo reality show Southern Charm. I love that Kathryn always brings the drama and originality in her style that we so badly need in this day and age. She is always extra and her looks make a serious statement. This girl has been through a lot and she is not going to let anyone dim her light. Shine on Kathryn. Season 6 of Southern Charm is about to premier on Bravo on May 15th, 2019 at 8/7c.
If you’ve never seen this gem of a series you MUST watch. Kathryn is part of one of the most iconic, jaw dropping season ending episodes in reality show history (last episode of the first season).
Researching this post I learned many interesting things about Ms. Dennis. Kathryn was not cast as part of the original cast, she started as a background extra at a party and charmed her way into a lead role. Calhoun is actually her (and Kensington’s) middle name (I thought she had 2 last names). And she’s dabbled in the dating app Bumble.

Kathryn Calhoun Dennis’ signature red lipstick color? MAC Lady Danger! This is Kelly Dodd’s favorite too! This shade has blue undertones (some red lipsticks pull more orange) and that makes your teeth appear whiter too!

Kathryn carries the Marc Jacobs Beauty O!Mega Bronzer Coconut Perfect Tan with her because she loves the big mirror. She also loves that it smells like coconuts. Her makeup artist Gabby Garrison (@gabbygarrison on Instagram) used it on the Southern Charm Season 6 Promo photos too!
Mascara
Kathryn likes L’Oreal Voluminous mascara which Lilly Ghalichi and Kyle Richards are also fans of. This is my go-to as well! The price is super affordable and it works great!

One hairstylist/makeup artist that Kathryn Dennis works with in Charleston is Gabby Garrison (@gabbygarrison on Instagram). Gabby did Kathryn’s hair (color, extensions, and style) and makeup for the promos for Southern Charm season 6 and she did a BEAUTIFUL job! Kathryn looks like perfection! And seriously biggest shout out to Gabby ever because she was a complete ANGEL and went above and beyond by giving me all of this super detailed info!

Gabby was also nice enough to DM me some of the details about what she used on Kathryn for this shoot. For Kathryn’s gorgeous bold coral lip she used Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Carina (PS this is discontinued so if you want it snatch it up ASAP!!)

Eyeshadow
Gabby used the Charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk Luxury Eyeshadow Pallete for the promotional photoshoot and for Kathryn’s interview looks. OMG is this palette dreamy or what? Like I need this. Gabby uses the matte brown color on an angled brush to lightly fill in Kathryn’s eyebrows too!
Mascara
For mascara Gabby used Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara on Kathryn over Ardell falsies.

Gabby used the super affordable Ardell Faux Mink lashes on Kathryn.

For Kathryn’s brows Gabby uses Glossier Boy Brow in Brown. I own this and it’s one of my faves too!. This product has a teeny mascara style wand and thickens, fills in, grooms brows and helps them stay in place all day.
Face Makeup – Foundation, Powder & Concealer
Foundation
Gabby mixes foundations to get the perfect formula and color match for Kathryn. She mostly uses Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in Light Beige. This is another product I have heard SO MANY good things about and I’m dying to try myself.
Gabby mixed Born This Way foundation with Physician’s Formula The Healthy Foundation SPF 20 ($15). She said this one is great for sensitive skin.
Concealer
For under eye concealer Gabby uses the super affordable Physician’s Formula Conceal Rx Physicians Strength Concealer. I’m so intrigued by them calling this a “physicians strength” concealer…
Setting Powder
Gabby used the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder in Fair on Kathryn. I have heard AMAZING things about this powder and the whole Charlotte Tilbury line. Patricia Altschul loves Charlotte Tilbury blushes.

Big, Loose Curls with Volume
For Kathryn’s hair Gabby used Powder Play Volumizing & Texturizing Powder by Big Sexy Hair and put it in velcro rollers for a couple hours to set. I’ve talked about hot rollers before in my posts on Patricia Altschul and Lisa Vanderpump and I’m going to proclaim right now that I think they’re going to make a comeback ASAP.

She likes a light weight moisturizer so she uses Trish McEvoy Beauty Booster Cream SPF 30. This is a primer, moisturizer and sunscreen all in one. It’s a good idea to layer sunscreen like this for added protection.

Dr. Germain – Kathryn goes to this dermatologist because her co-star Miss Patricia Altschul sees her. She uses Germain Super Sheer Physical Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ ($42) to protect her fair skin.
Kathryn is a girl after my own heart wearing a swim shirt in the Bahamas!! I wore one in Nicaragua (and Mexico, and Florida, and anytime I’m in water) when you’re fair you have to take these steps to protect yourself!

She says to have a professional colorist do a red toner with no bleach and no dye. The extensions have already been chemically processed to sanitize, remove color, and add color so it’s best to try for the shade closest to the desired color and use toner only.
Kathryn Dennis’ Tan
Kathryn swears by Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Leg Makeup which she puts all over her body. I can confirm that this product is amazing. It’s so great at covering up imperfections in the skin. It’s like a bottle of panty hose. I can also vouch that it gets all over everything. I’ve literally brought my own brown towel to a pool party and on a boat before.
Mobile Spray Tanning
Kathryn, much like her friend Stassi, is obsessed with spray tans. For a spray tan that won’t come off on someone’s furniture Kathryn has used Glow Boss which is a mobile tanning company which means they’ll come to you!
