Maybelline Matte and Poreless Review

I was lurking the makeup aisles at Ulta for the new L’Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Pro-Matte foundation (Cameran Eubanks from Southern Charm’s favorite BTW) when the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless foundation caught my eye since it was half the price.

I had heard good things about this foundation so I wanted to try it. Maybelline also has a new Maybelline Fit Me! Dewy + Smooth foundation, but my skin is way too oily to even try to mess with that! I got the foundation in the color 112 Natural Ivory which is the second lightest color. Other foundations that are a good match for my skin for reference- Makeup Forever HD Foundation in N117 and Estee Lauder Double Wear in 1N1 Ivory Nude you can see swatches here.

Let’s go over some of the claims of the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless foundation :

  • For normal to oily skin – Yes and I also think this would work on well moisturized dry skin.
  • Mattifies and refines pores – It’s slightly mattifying, but I would call it more of a demi matte finish that’s just the tiniest bit powdery. When it was wet it almost seemed as though it was emphasizing my pores, but once it dried it covered them somewhat. I definitely did not feel poreless.
  • It matches natural tone – Yes! This one I agree with. I was very pleased that this one had neutral undertones and was a great match for my skin.
  • Natural seamless finish – Again, yes because it matches the skin tone so well and isn’t too thick or fake looking.

Pros: Price! It was only $7.99, light weight, good medium buildable coverage, didn’t oxidize much, nice finish that’s not too flat, great color match, doesn’t look like a mask, great drugstore foundation especially for normal and slightly oily skin

Cons: It’s not matte!, only lasts 6-8 hours, I don’t like the glass bottle and lack of a pump, no SPF

Tip: I like how it applied with my Morphe G6 flat top kabuki/flat buffer brush better than with a beauty blender.

I also got the Maybelline Fit Me! Matte and Poreless Translucent Powder in 100 Translucent.

I originally wanted the Matte and Poreless powder foundation, but I didn’t think any of them looked like a good color match. The Maybelline Fit Me! Matte and Poreless Translucent Powder in 100 Translucent doesn’t make you 100% matte or poreless, but it has a really nice finish and is light weight and buildable.

Overall I have used this foundation almost every day since buying it and I’ve been very satisfied! Check out my video review and demo of the Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless foundation and translucent powder and in the final look I’m also wearing the Maybelline Fit Me concealer:
